Could anybody recommend a pet insurance company to me for my long haired persian?
Her name is Jess and she is approaching her 1st birthday.
I wish to put a policy in place just in case she ever needs treatment/care.
There must be somebody here who can help surely.

There are several good Pet insurers out there.
If you want very good comprehensive cover, but pay that little bit extra Direct Line are good. They offer £6,000 per illness for your cat, £500 for advertising should she go missing, a large amount should you have to cancel a holiday because of a cats illness and money for boarding your cat should you be taken into hospital.
If you are looking for good cover but at a more reasonable cost then Tesco Pet Insurance are a bargin. Tesco offer the same as Direct Line but the amount per illness is only £2,000 otherwise they are exactly the same.
Personally I went with Tesco as I have three cats, all house cats and this means they will never be in the situation of them having a road traffic accident so £2,000 does fine.
So really it is all up to you. You can of course ring round the various people Petplan, Lloyds TSB, Swinton, Churchill, Tesco, Direct Line and More Than to see what kind of policies they offer, the differences between them and the cost.
But Tesco or Direct Line are my recommendations.

Hi Isis,
Thanks for the advice, Direct Line sound like they provide some good cover but I'm warming to a company recommended by somebody in another forum. Pedigree & Whiskas seem to offer some good cover and I've been trying to locate somebody that has had dealings with them to find all the in's and out's!
Take a peek if you get a chance and let me know what you think.
