As you all know we adopted a second cat about 10 days ago. Luckly she eats the same food we feed our other cat. The main problem is that shes a pig. I feed her the reccomended amount of 2/3 cup per day (1/3 in the morning and 1/3 late afternoon) within seconds of the food hitting the bowl it is gone. She always eats this way and is always crying for more. She is at her ideal weight. She may have been on the street for sometime when we found her but after 10 days I would think her appitite would be back to normal.

Any ideas?

Hmm.. Our cats we've had were always little piggies! lol...We just mostly free-feed them. Maybe if you want, buy some treats for *inbetween servings*....This may feel your kitty up some.

Im confused.
You said: "Luckly she eats the same food we feed our other cat."
Is this the same food she was eating prior to you adopting her or do you mean she has been eating this food for only 10 days?

What I should have said was luckly she eats the same brand of food as our other cat. At first she wouldn't touch the stuff, but now she eats it. I would hate to by 2 different types of food

Oh,okay..so she has only been eating that brand for 10 days then.
The reason I asked was because upon switching brands of food my cats tend to pig out on it too...because its new and different. After a few weeks of eating it they seem to adjust to the new taste and slow down quite a bit. For you, its only been 10 days so Im guessing that she will soon adjust to the new taste and slow down for you. Just an idea
