I have a 10 week old kitten. She was a stray that was found under a deck when she was 3 weeks old. We have had her for a couple weeks now and she is afraid of every noise, movement, and person. We also got another kitten, a boy, who has settled in perfectly. No problems. We have never hurt her or done anything but love her and she is still scared of everything. She just runs and hides continuously. Then magically once in a while she will sit with us and be a nice calm cat. Help!

Hi!

I don't think this is unusual. My family has found and kept several stray and feral cat and it does take quite some time for some of them to come around. It took my cat almost a year to become attacked to my hip while her sister settled in almost immediately. You just need to be patient and give her lots of love and attention. She will come around. just one thought, try to get her on a schedule i.e. eating at a certain time, treats at a certain time, cleaning the itter box at a certain time, etc.... that will help her settle.

Good luck.
