Hi all - I just thought it would be fun to share the funniest or cutest thing(s) that our cats have done. I know I enjoy reading stories about other fur kids. Please share your story.

I have 7 cats - YES I said 7 of the little furballs at home and they're all indoor cats and I never have a problem with lack of entertainment. But, the cutest thing I've ever seen was when my best friend "Onyx" a solid black male who is 3 now took very good care of my baby girl "Bailey" - a long hair tabby. When Bailey was only 6 weeks old I awoke to a curious sound. Onyx was on my bed with Bailey and she was suckling at his tummy! I'm not sure if its normal or not - but there he was looking like the proud "mother" with little Bailey suckling, purring, and kneading at his little tummy. They continued this behavior daily till Bailey was almost 2 years old. They are still close friends and cuddle from time to time - but that was certainly the cutest thing I've seen them do.

Hi....
What a sweet story. That is the reason I love cats so much they are so interesting and unpredictable.
I also have seven indoor cats. And of course they are always up to mischief. Sometimes I just have to laugh and shake my head.
One of the strangest was before I rescued six of my cats and there was just Molly(black lab) and Katy(Queen cat) we would go tent camping alot. We tried a new campground and after setting up decided to go for a walk, somehow we ended up lost and walked at least ten miles out of the way. Katy insisted on walking the whole way following Molly. She stayed on the trail, and never darted off. If I or my husband would bend down to carry her she would hiss at us. I have never seen a cat walk and stay on a trail like that. Katy also loves to go for car rides with Molly and insist on having her own window so she can stick her nose out.
Now with seven cats we can't go tent camping any more so we're trying to save for an R.V.
I would never go on vacation and leave my fur kids home.

More Sage 'capades!
Yesterday, I saw him do the cutest thing ever... We just brought the new pup, Nestle, home and they were both eating. I was worried Sage would get possessive about food, so I placed the dishes on opposite sides of the room. Sage decided he wanted a drink out of Nestle's bowl, but she nipped him when he tried, then she ran over to his dish and took a drink (little bratling!). Sage decided he wanted to try puppy food, and she ran over and clamped those little teeth down on his tail. I was sure it was all over for her. He just looked at her and let her keep chewing on it, not even trying to take it out of her mouth. I was a little shocked, but my mom and I had to leave, so I kenneled the pup and told Sage to watch her (I was seriously just joking!). The pup was crying when we left, but when we came back, she was asleep with her face pushed up against the bars, and Sage was sleeping in front of the cage with a paw through the bars on her little head. It was so precious! My cat, the character !

I almost feel bad about putting up so many posts about Sage, but it's nice to finally be able to talk about the little darling and share stories with people who understand cats. Another cute story from today. He and Nestle are getting along just grandly (thank goodness!) and they love to chase eachother around the house. Nestle's picking up his habits now. He likes to touch you gently with his paw to get your attention, and now she did it to me and my mom today! Then, when I laid down to go to bed this morning, Sage always sleeps at the end of my bed because I move around a lot. My mom came in when she got home and woke me up. Nestle had climbed onto my really big stuffed animals some how and had gotten on my bed while I was sleeping. Normally (well, since we got her...) she's curled up under my chin or on my chest anytime I was laying down or reading, when Mom woke me up, she was with Sage and he'd curled into a big ball around her. It was so sweet!

Isn't it amazing how our cats surprise us like that! I wondered how Sage would interact with little Nestle - turns out you had nothing to worry about. Sage turned out to be her guardian after all...or as I say about my cats - her big brother

I've got to share the little quirks of my newest cat - Shadow. We got him last summer. Actually he got us, we found him in a near by park we go to and walk the trails through the woods. He came out from under our truck as we walked up. He had horrible wounds on his head, paws and face. I scooped him up in my arms and cried all the way to our vets (whom I also work for on weekends) Dr. Khemsara said it looked as though he had been thrown out of a moving car and he tried to catch himself but instead tumbled about. I was horrified, he was just a little shadow of a cat when we found him. Well the name stuck, and Shadow is now a happy member of the family and won't leave my side, lap, arms, chest etc. He climbs all over me. We nicknamed him "pup" or "puppy" because he acts like one nonstop. When I get home from work he runs over to me, throws himself down on the floor rolling over for a tummy rub.

He chatters and talks non stop and squeeks or meeps at everything. I swear I could carry on a conversation with him back and forth for hours if I wanted. His back must be made of a slinky cause he rolls and stretches all over the place. He sleeps on his back with all four feet in the air - and snores. LOL
I think it cracks me up the most when he "sits up" for his treats or cat nip. He looks just like a prairie dog when he does it. Well, I've probably talked enough about my baby boy. I'll keep you posted on any other stories to share. Let me know any others about Sage & Nestle. Take care, and give the "kids" a hug and smooch for me.

Shadow sounds adorable! I don't understand how anyone could do anything as mean as throwing a cat out of a car. That's so sad! I'm glad he's better. We had a cat named Penny (she died this winter , but she was older, 15, and outdoors since my stepdad wouldn't let us keep her inside), and she ran away for nine months and then just showed up one day. We took her to the vet because she was so thin and we wanted to make sure she was healthy and all that. He found a pellet bullet in her chest where someone had shot her and she'd been hit by a car (we think). I don't understand why anyone would want to be so mean. Penny was the sweetest kitty, a little strange after she came back because her teeth were knocked out so she drooled on you, but she wouldn't have given anyone a reason to do that. And I'll bet poor (well, lucky since he found you) Shadow didn't either. Some people are so cruel! We even had two barn cats where I went to school and some of the students (we never found out who) caught them somehow and dragged them behind their cars. We weren't allowed to get anymore for the barn because the pricipal was afraid they'd do it again, they even bought an alarm system for the horses just in case someone tried something with them. Some people make me so mad! I love it when the cats chatter, I thought Sage might be the only one that did that! Glad to know he's "normal" .
