Hello, I'm new here. My name is Sarah, i'm 13 years old and just got a new kitten about 2 weeks ago. Here's my problem. My new kitten[no name yet]doesn't use the litter box. She uses it behide the t.v and computer desk. My mom isn't too happy with this. Does anybody have any ideas? If it helps she's only 6 months. My friend was moving and had to give them away, right away!
Also, Courage[turned 1 on April 2.] is used to being the only cat. Now that we got a new kitten she doesn't come in- only to eat and sleep. But once she eats and takes a nap she leaves!! She likes to sleep on top of the t.v and glares at everybody that passes her. She growls at everybody who touches her[or tries to touch her]. This breaks my heart. I even got her favorite treats. She'll eat them and growl at the same time. It's been about 2 weeks. I try to treat them the same but it'd easier to pet and cuddle with a little kitten then a growling cat.
That reminds me- the kitten acts like a dog?!? She lays with a hairbow and when you try to get it back it growls and trys to play tug-a-war like a dog. Is that normal? I know Ashley had a dog so maybe it just picked it up from her dog before we got it.

Do you have a seperate litter box for each cat? If not you should...maybe the new kitten does not want to share a litter box. You can also try keeping the kitten in a seperate room with her litterbox for a few days to make sure she uses it. Was this kitten litter before you got it?
