This cat has been lossing fur around it's neck for some years now. We bring him in to be checked and no ring worms. They spray stuff on it and thats it. But every year he will start losing fur for about a month. It will scab over, heal, and grow back the fur. It only happens only around the neck. He is in indoor cat only and wears no coller. This does not happen to my other 2 cats that are also indoor. Does anyone have any idea what i can do to stop this?

This does sound frustrating. Have you went to another vet for a second opinion? It sounds like it could possibly be nerves, it's kind of tough to guesstimate over the internet.

Hi

It could be overgrooming due to stress. What time of year does it occur? I wonder if he sees something going on outside at that time of the year and is frustrated he can't get outside.

Also fur loss can be an allegy. Most often an allegy to flea spit. Maybe the fur loss occurs when baby fleas hatch. What kind of flea killer do you use? Some will kill the eggs as well which might solve the problem.

Thats two ideas anyway, hope this helps.
