Hi!

Don't worry, give them lots of time and thinsg will eventually work themselves out. My mothers cats took almost 3 weeks to like each other. Some cats may take longer/shorter to get acquainted.

Goodluck!

Hi

I agree with Cat, give them time and they will get used to one another. A new arrival can be upsetting for everyone including the humans of a household, so don't worry its normal. Just give both cats lots of love and they will be ok. Its good news that your old cat is trying to groom the new one, this shows that he/she is feeling accepting already and that will speed the friendship along well.

Have fun
Greypaw

Yeah, I agree with Cat and Graypaw. Just give them time. In fact (don't laugh), it helps to rub the original cats belongings, even soiled litter; on the other cat. It puts the 'safe' scent on the arrival.'

After about 1 to 3 months, it's rare for cats to not accept each other.

Good luck!
