![]() ![]() Fight happened in backyard two nights ago, now he has growing lump over left eye. Does he need to go to a vet? I have little money but will take him if absolutely necessary. Help. TIA! -Mike IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() I understand about the money situation cos i have been in the same boat but i would recomend that you take him to the vet because the absese needs to be drained and the vet is the only person to do it. Let me know how you get on. Lila x. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() I searched the web for cat abcess and it brought me to this message. I had my cat PTS today and I'm feeling real bad. I know I did what needed to be done but it's still bothering me. She was a semi feral cat and very hard to handle. The vet. explained to me how after surgery from putting in a drain I would have to flush it daily. We both agreed that her temperament would make it very hard. It was going to cost $200 which I don't have. She was a good cat even though she was fiesty. I miss her!! IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() Definately go see a vet. I just took my male cat to the vet last night because he had an absess on his side. They said it's from a cat fight more than likely. They gave him a shot of penicillian and also gave me amoxicillian to give him for the next 7 days 2 times a day. Plus I have to clean it with benadine. She said it's going to open to the size of a golf ball before it starts to heal. My female cat had one on her front leg a month ago. Same resolution. No signs of discomfort.. just actually spotted blood and then pussy looking substance in the cat room (so we call it). Very VERY important to see a vet about it. Good luck. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Take him to the vet. You need to make sure its not infected as cat claws and teeth carry a ton of different bacteria. Take him in IP: Logged |
