I see alot of posts on here about people worrying about whether to take their animal to a vet or not.
Here is an idiots guide to whether your cat is in crisis or not:
If you cat is lethargic, not moving and weak get to a vet ASAP, even call one out!
If your cat is not eating or drinking again get to a vet ASAP
If your cat is being repeatedly sick and can't keep anything down, a trip to the vets is urgent.
If you cat has very runny, watery excrement and when you pinch the skin on its back it doen't snap straight back (this is a test for dehydration) take your cat to the vet ASAP.
If your cats eyes are watering or closed, your cats is sneezing or has discharge from its nose, firstly keep it inside and away from any other cats and get it to the vet ASAP (it probably has Cat Flu!)

As an owner you know when something isn't right with your animal. Above are the truly urgent illnesses (and remember vomiting can be caused by poisoning) but if you are in doubt then get your prized kitty to the vet. It's ok to ask around for advice for niggling little things, as vets trips can be expensive, but if you suspect your animal is seriously ill fast treatment may well save its life.

Good Luck
