Hello, my name is Tammy Gagne. I am a published freelance writer from Southern Maine who specializes in writing about animals. I am also a columnist for Bird Times magazine.

My most recent articles/columns are listed below.

"In or Out - Is One Choice Right for Everyone?"
Cats & Kittens magazine
May 2003 issue (upcoming issue)

"Complementary Therapies at Work"
Dog & Kennel magazine
April 2003 issue (current issue)

"Six Biggest Mistakes Bird Owners Make"
Bird Times magazine
April 2003 issue (current issue)

I am currently working on an article about how to keep pet cats happy.

I am looking for a few succinct, informative quotes from caring cat owners to use in the piece. I believe cat owners have important insight to offer to this piece.

Any information you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Please just be sure to include your full name, title, and the name of your facility, so I can credit you properly if I use your response. (Just use the reply function in your e-mail program and insert your answers to the questions below.)

1. What is the name, age, and breed of your cat(s)?

2. What do you think are the most important steps to keeping a cat happy?

3. How important do you think is feline companionship is?

4. What do you think is the minimum amount of time an owner should spend with his/her cat?

5. How does exercise and play affect your cat's mood?

6. Is there anything else that you think affects your cat's mood and overall happiness? Please explain.

7. Is there anything else you'd like to add about keeping a happy/contented cat?

Thank you for your input. I look forward to reading your responses.
