Need a little more info.
Is this brand new behavior or did he always do this?
Have you added any new pets to your house? or a baby?
Any new animals in the neighborhood, or new strays hanging around?
Does he use a litter box or is he an outdoor cat? Or both?
Any stressful changes at home?
Any diet changes?
Any other physical symptoms?

my sister has the same problem with her 2 cats.she was told to spray water at the cats face ie with water pistol or flower mister.don't do it too close and make sure it is on fine spray.the cat thinks it is spraying itself and hopefully will stop it.
