i have 3 cats,Oreo who is 5 y rs old, neutered and very mellow tempered;Batman,a 3 yr old, newly neutered tomcat, who at one time roamed the outdoors freely but has become a very nice house cat, and last but not least.....Gobblin,who is a little over a yr old,he is not neutered. so i'm sure you can figure out who is doing the spraying. the order in which these cats joined out home is as follows.....oreo was first.....we got him as a kitten thru a local shelter,he was neutered when we broght him home at the age of 6 weeks,he is for all purposes...the "daddy" of the others, then came batman,he came to join the family when he was about 6 weeks also,he wasnt neutered until this past october,he for a little over a year came and went outside as he pleased, never making problems(spraying) when he was indoors. my daughter got gobblin for halloween the year before last,he has been a bit on the mischevious side since he joined us....he's into things he shouldnt be...has from the start(which,he also was just about 6 weeks of age when he joined the family)urinated where ever he feels like, and now he is spraying everything in sight...and i do mean everything. he even sprayed the television while i was standing in the room. i have 4 little boxes thru out the house...and each cat has chosen one as his own....with the others sniffing....but not using....the other one generally goes unused....but on occasion someone "visits" it. all of the boys got along,no fighting, until Batman came to be an inside cat....now he and Gobblin fight continuously...so much that we have been keeping the seperated.....which isnt an easy task...and alonf with the fighting came Gobblins spraying. what i'm nopt understaning is why now....when they got along well...took naps curled up together when Batman would come home to visit...but now they seem to detest each other? any solutions to the spraying????? to the fighting????? its becoming an issue with the eintire family and now Oreo seems to be getting anxious. will having Gobblin neutered help? i dont have the $25.00 extra to have it done at the moment as my husband had a heart attack and isnt working at the moment. if something doesnt happen soon,i'm considering giving Gobblin to a shelter so he might find somewhere more suitable to his needs. which, will hurt my daughter, altho,he's taken to spraying her bedroom on a regular basis,(even tho no other cats go in there) and she's not so happy about it.

I have a similar problem. My cousins husbands a vet and he recommended a product called Feliway. It is a pheromone analogy which calms cats and helps them relax in uncomfortable situations. I just ordered it so I dont know if it works. But it sounds good and worth trying. One form is a spray the other is a plugin air freshner.
