I have a five and a half month old kitten. About three days ago, he stopped playing and sleeps all the time. His ears and his paw pads are whiter than normal, they are usually pink. Even his gums are faded. He won't play with our other kitten and he refuses to eat the hard food. He is on Nutro Max, and I bought some Iams to see if he wanted something else, but he passed that up too. He drinks a lot more now. I don't even think I have seen him use the litterbox at all today or yesterday. He hasn't thrown up at all and he doesn't have diarrhea. I have been looking in books and on the internet and it sounds likes anemia. Does anyone have a cat who has this condition? We're going to take him to the vet tomorrow. Any info would be great! Thanks!

Yup, sounds like anemia, where there is blanching of the gums. The vet can go ahead and test the H&H, but the cause has to be found. Keep the electrolytes up by giving via syringe (no needle of course), Pedialyte or comparable found in supermarket baby sections or drug stores. Best wishes.
