okie heres the deal about 5 or 6 munths ago my cat had babies and we have given all of them away but one now it has been about 3 months scince the last kitten left and oliver (the one we are keeping) is starting to act strange i mean he is sick i dont really know what from but i do think it is because his mother is sick and he is still drinking her milk do you think it is that i am not really sure i remeber a few years back we had a kitten that died and the vet said that it was because she had feline lucemia but these are not those semptoms oliver has one eye that always gets "boogers" in it. it started doing that about 5 days ago. The normall color of the inner eye lid is a grayish white tent but oliver's inner eye lid is pinkish red and very swollen in the same eye that always gets "boogers" i think those simptoms are similar to those of pink eye but i am not sure because i have never had pink eye he is always very tierd all the time and that may seem normall for cats but the other kittens always played an so would he he sleeps most all day but when he is awake he sits on your lap and looks at you and meows like he is cryin. He is constantly doin that when he is awake. He has stopped drinkin his mothers milk so it might be because of that but i would like to know. I would take him to the vet but i am too young and my mother refuses please tell me if there is anything you know of that i could do i am not sure what to do for him at all he barely eats anymore some times he runs across a room but only if he wants on your lap well i guess i will leave t at that. write me back soon all !!

take the cat to the vet. have him tested for fiv/feluke.get him his shots. he probibally has a upper respratory infection. i am treating kittens now with that.if not taken to a vet with this he could contract severe direaha and die.

Sad that you show more responsibility and love for an anomal than your mom, I commend your spirit and heart. First off, feline leukemia is very bad, and is like having AIDS but is in a cat instead. In other words, should the leukemia positive cat had had a bite or scratch or the opposite to another cat, possibility of giving the disease to another cat.
As for the swollen and red and icky eye of your kitten, I suggest a vet , first and foremost, but mom is lacking in that being done, so next best thing, cleaning and keeping the eye sight hopefully. I recommend a saline/salt solution made for cats/dogs/puppies like Opticlear available at a pet area in Walmart or K-Mart or pet shop. Pour some on a clean white cloth or disposable white tissue and clean one eye from the inner canthus, to the outer area of the eye.Discard. Then, same to the other eye, discard tissue or get another area of cloth. The object is to cleanse the eye, keep it clean, but prevent infection in the other eye by transferrence, accomplished by using a different cloth area or tissue for EACH eye SEPARATELY. Keep this up until perhaps the eye improves. If not, I suggest you contact a Humane society in your area for help. Perhaps mom has financial problems which is why she cannot afford a vet at this time. It does happen unfortunately. I wish you and kitty well, he sure is lucky to have you care for him. God bless.
