![]() ![]() i have about a 9 month old cat and he has continally fighting a black/brown discharge from his eye, now it has gotten worse and now one eye is red and swollen and the inner pink lid thing is covering half his eye. i don't know what to do and i have had bad experiences with vets ripping me off in the past, i don't know what to do. is it an infection? allergies? something worse, please help!!! ![]() ![]() Sounds like an infection alright. Herpes is a major culprit. You'd have to see a vet for a potent antibiotic for ingestion, but you can also try Terramycin ointment which you can get from a catalog or nearest poultry or horse feed store probably. Clean the eye with a warm washcloth, gently, and treat each eye separately so as not to cross-contaminate further or at all if it isn't bad/in the other eye. If it doesn't improve within a few days, I sure would see a vet or kitty can go blind or die from a severe infection. God bless. IP: Logged |
