My 6 year old oriential blue suddenly developed these symtoms. Started drooling excessively. No appetite. Losing weight fast. Both eyes has puss ozing from them. Symtoms have come from out of nowhere.Going on one week now. Cat is an inside cat. Never goes out. Have 2 other cats with none of these symptoms. Took cat to vet. Vet gave antibiotic and ointment for eyes. Cat is in dire straights. Am bringing her back to the vet today. Vet checked for obstruction but found none. I will insist on xray today. Cat was purchased from a breeder 6 years ago. I was told that cat had all appropriate shots, including feline leukemia vacination. Cat tested negative for this, although vet says cat may have a disease similar to it. Please, any suggestions? My cat is now down to just bones. If I try hand feeding, she just meows and walks away. I have isolated her from other cats. She is drinking water and is producing urine. Any suggestions, please respond fast. Time is of the essence. Thank you. Cody... IP: Logged |

My cat has the same symptoms. The stats are as follows; has fleas although an indoor cat, mucus flows from nose and eyes, drooling, sneezing, breathing funny sounds, weakish, not talkative, won't eat, drinks milk and water, etc. We actually did something that made most of his symptoms go away. It's illegal...but it worked 70%. We got him high. I had to force feed him. I put in one kibble at a time for about 10 minutes. Afterwards the poor thing probably had bad cottonmouth, so I put him near his water. He went right for it....then went right for the food. A day later, he now has more strength, is very talkative, is eating and drinking very well, the mucus and sneezing have almost stopped altogether, there is no more drooling...ok, maybe he's 90% better. I'm one happy camper now and that's all that matters. Hope this helps you and your little loved one. IP: Logged |

What did you use? I am giving mine an appetite stimulant (cyroheptadine) and it's not working. Finally I just began syringing purreed food into him. He only gets about 10% of it and the rest of it he just spits up. Takes about 4 towels and a bowl of warm water and baby shampoo to do this. Still, no improvement. It's going on 4 days and I am desperate. IP: Logged |
