The school horse that I ride is having back pain and stiffness around her croup area. She's a small middle aged mare and she hadn't been ridden for quite some time until I started on her about 2 months ago. She had been pinning her ears when I rode her with a saddle at the lope. So I tried riding her bareback and now she doesn't pin her ears. I think the problem might have been the saddle, but she still has a bit of swelling around her croup area. I was just wondering if anyone knows some simple massage teachniques I could do with her to help improve her flexibility...I've been jogging small circles with her, but I think thats causing her more pain than helping her. So if anyone has any massage or excersise techniques for me to try out, I would be very appreciative. Thanks :-D IP: Logged |
