My Thoroughbred consistantly gets girth galls on both sides. I've tried everything I can think of, from switching to a double elastic girth, to using a girth cover. His legs are stretched before every ride, but he keeps getting the rubs. Given a couple days off, they go down, but once back in work, they come back. Does anybody have any other ideas? They don't seem to bother him too much, but they look nasty, and they can't be comfortable, no matter how little he's showing being uncomfortable. IP: Logged |

try bathing the girth galls and surrounding skin in salt water to harden the skin or rub manuka honey in to them as it heals almost anything and keeps out infections. IP: Logged |
