Hello,

I am a volunteer for The Communication Alliance to Network Thoroughbred Ex-Racehorses (CANTER), which provides help for retiring racehorses with opportunities for new careers after the finish line. I am part of the NE chapter, but there are 5 other chapters (Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Texas, and W. Virginia). This is the link to the NE chapter http://www.canterusa.org/newengland/
And please click on the state closet to you for listings on current horses for sale. It is a great organization, and once retrained and brought down from the track with some turnout and rest make wonderful dressage, hunter, event, and hack animals. There are more than 50 horses currently on the for sale page ranging between prices of free- 3995.00. Most of them are around 1,000.00-2,000.00, and most horses are between 3-5 years of age. Please pass the word about this organization, these horses deserve more.

Through its Web site, CANTER provides the means for the public to preview horses that are ending their racing careers which are available for purchase.

Please Note: The service is FREE to both those listing and buying. Negotiation of price and terms is solely between buyer and seller, CANTER is not a broker. We do not receive commission on horses bought through the site, nor do we have financial ties to the sellers.

CANTER is a non-profit organization with an entirely volunteer staff. There is no commission or fee charged for listing or buying a horse, and we receive no compensation, volunteers do this purely for the love of the breed.

Thank you

p.s. if anyone knows how to paste in a picture, please let me know, and I will paste in my own retired racehorse picture of him under saddle.
