My filly's paddock mate is a gelding bully who bites her every other day. My whimpy filly is at a training barn where the trainer refuses to move her (limited space, no other suitable field mate, my filly panics if left in field by herself and the trainer is afraid she'll hurt herself.) The problem is I'm showing my horse in halter classes this summer and I don't want to go to a show with a scarred, ugly filly. Any suggestions? I thought about putting a fly sheet on her, but the bully might try to tear it off. Summer IP: Logged |

the only way is to move her to a different pasture or pasture by herself or with someone else. who is your trainer? this sounds awful that she wouldnt take this matter and do something about it IP: Logged |

she should be moved but till another solution comes up to heal the bite marks try manuka honey cos it keeps all bugs out and it heals fast. IP: Logged |

first off a filly and a gelding shudnt b put together in same pasture as a gelding still acts like a stallion and he can go from just biting to being really nasty and kicking out all the time to me it sounds like he hasnt had much training and he should be in a pasture of his own and not with other horses until he can be taught to behave as he will end up being a risk to all other horses and ponies that come in contact with him tell the owner of the gelding how you feel and the stress its putting your filly thru as this can cause tremendous stress for the filly and will cause her to become scared of other horses and ponies hope this helps keep me posted if you need any more advice i can be emailed at boro_lad1976@hotmail.com mike....
