Hi, I've never bottle fed horses or zebras for that matter, but I did bottle raise two flighty baby goats who hadn't been handled at birth. What we did was cut a hole in the bottom of a long sock, stick the whole bottle in the sock making sure the nipple stuck out. We then tied the bottle onto the stall door. This let them eat in peace with out us there and they had a good time tussling around with the bottle. We also found it was really important to make sure the temp. of the formula was just right, or they wouldn't touch it. Good Luck to you. Try contacting one of the farms or people on this page, or contact Lisa McDonald, (at the bottom of that page) and ask for contact info. They may have experience thats right up your alley. Smiles and good luck with that baby. http://www.geocities.com/CapeCanaveral/Runway/3559/zorses.htm [This message has been edited by Maisey (edited 02-14-2003).] IP: Logged |

Sorry I didn't see this question earlier. You probably have succeeded (or failed!) with your baby by now. I have raised two and could have helped. Email me if you get this message as I would like to know how you are doing. lworley@statesville.net IP: Logged |
