I just recently bought 2 stud ponies Both about 15 months old and 1 filly about 1 1/2
years old, They were all running together, since birth, The guy I bought them from said she would not even come into season until at least next year, Is that true?? Can a stud colt breed at this age? Is it possible she could be pregnant already? I have had her 2 1/2 weeks and as of yet she shows no signs of going into heat... Will she be o.k. foaling at this age ??? Or do I need to be extremely worried?

This filly should have started heat cycles at six months to a year old...she is too young to breed but I have had one that was bred at a yearling...given a shot to abort and still foaled at two....she did fine...so you will be ok I am sure but I would definitely seperate them now if possible..I have been breeding horses for over 20 years and highly reccomend not breeding until after five years of age....
