I have 2 red tail sharks that I bought at the same time. When I got them they were the same color but one started to fade. First it was just his tail then it progressed to his body. Now his tail is almost clear and his body is a light gray color. Otherwise he is in good shape. Does anyone know what the problem might be? IP: Logged |

Is one picking on the other? The same thing happened to two red tailed sharks that I had/have. I have been told that the more aggressive one picks on the weaker one until it dies....and with me, the one that started to fade was the weaker one. Eventually, the fins started to fray and fish that seemed comparable originally- the weaker became considerably smaller and stressed out. I had to seperate the two-- it became apparent that the weaker one would die if I did'nt-- so, they are now swimming happily and seperatley. {Just as an aside, I moved the stronger one to another tank as I did'nt want to risk stressing the weaker one out anymore.} Good-luck with your red tails!
