would it be ok to use one of those feeding pyramids that disolves slowly to feed my cichlid for three or four days? do they foul up the water? Any harm caused by these?

i've used them to feed my tropical fish before, and they've always been fine, but i've never had cichlids...my guess is if they eat flake food then they'll be fine with the particles that dissolve

If you're doing partial water changes each week they are no problem at all. They also make good feeders for Clown Loaches and other Botias.

Using feeding pyramids is not a problem. Using pellets is not a problem. Using feeding pyramids and pellets can develop into a problem of over feeding the tank. If they fill up on pellets then the pyramid will go uneaten and raise the ammonia and nitrite levels and most likely create fungus in the tank.
