I have purchased them from a LFS under the name "butterfly plecostomus" and since that was the name I thought they were a plecostomus. Both of them that I had would live about two weeks and then die overnight. I gave them algae tablets just like a regular pleco, should I be feeding them something different? Also, I've never seen one off the wall of the tank, is it possible that they can't unstick? I have a 20 gallon tank with a mean gourami and several tetras. Thank you for any help! IP: Logged

They can unstick they just don't. Most likely your problem was the gourami picking on him. Butterfly's really need a tank with a little algae development. They are delicate with regard to being picked on by other fish. A tetra tank is a good place for them. Hope this helps. IP: Logged
