a few weeks ago I had bought 3 convicts within the first couple of days they started to dig holes in the gravel after about a week or so the one of them killed the other 2 a few days later I got 2 more this time they were a little bigger than the 1 orriginal in hopes that it wouldent kill them to but within a couple of days they were also dead. now I had just went to feed her (?) and noticed about 10 little babies swimming around in there with her. Is there any advise any one could give me to help make sure they survive I dont know anything about breeding fish or how to care for new borns. the only fish I had ever had have babies before were guppies. thanks.

I have a tank of convict babies also. about 30 and they are getting quite large. thankfully my local pet store is awesome and they will take them for me upon reaching sexual maturity. convicts breed like crazy and I was interested in the process.
anyway, what you should do is cover your filter intake with some netting, unless the babies are already to big to get sucked up.
also, so they have some algae they can eat while tiny? also, you could buy some fry food but they outgrow that really fast and go right to flake.
have fun!
