i have a red tail catfish that is about 6 inch long. my question is what does he eat? the guy from the pet store told me to feed it with gold fish but i dont see him eat it.

Red tails don't like to eat with the lights on. If you have a dim light in the room turn it on and then turn out the tank lights. It shouldn't take very long to see him go after them. The guy at the pet store was right at 6" he'll eat goldfish 2"-3". At 6" that's 2 1/2" of mouth and about 5" of stomach and his belly will balloon up like it's going to burst. My 6" eats about 50 of the large 2"-3" goldfish a week.
