Hi - I have a 2 year old, 8 inch ID Shark that lives in a 44 gallon community tank and has done so for the past 2 years without any problems. Today, upon feeding time at night, I noticed that a large white patch has developed on top of his head back to the beginning of his top dorsal fin. This area is about 1.5 inches long and 1.0 inches wide. He seems to be normal otherwise; eating and swimming about in an active fashion, as always; but I'm obviously concerned. Does anyone have an idea of what happened to him? Is it a form of Ich that these fish get? I saw one of my Kissing Gouramis "kissing" him exactly in this area and it looks like part of the skin coat is missing. Don't know if this white area is part of a disease state or the protective coating and outer layer of his skin that has been scrapped off by the Gourami's. Help!

I think he/she hit his/her head to the glass so don't worry.
