It seems as though I have an excessive amount of brown algae in my tank. How can I get rid of it? I'd prefer not to get a pleco or a snail as to seeing how my cichlids are little murderers!lol. Is there any other way to get rid of it? Will this excessive amount of algae be harmful to my tank? You can scrape it off your glass with a scraper. if you have fake plants you can pull them out and wash them off with hot water in the sink (no soap). they sell algaecides but I think I'd use that as a last resort. try scraping, washing, and vacuuming your tank. You will have a continual problem with algae if you have no algae eater. if I were you, I'd buy a fake log and try another pleco. pleco can hide in the log. also make sure you have a cave for each cichlid in your tank. good luck IP: Logged |
