i am feeding my oscars a varied diet of bloodworms, krill, oscar bites, chiclid flakes, and on the weekends guppies. Will this optimize their growth? IP: Logged |

Yes it will, But stick to cichlid pellets as a main diet. They will provide all the vitamins they need to grow healthy. As they get bigger you can even use nightcrawlers once and a while. They are good protien just not too often though. Good Luck!! IP: Logged |

Fish grow the quickest when given live foods. Also foods high in protien stimulate rapid growth. I believe from your list Krill has the greatest amount of protien. I used to raise my Oscars on shrimp pellets and they generally grew faster than I was ready for. If your wanting them to grow fast just feed them every time they're hungry which is all the time. Believe me you won't have any trouble getting them to grow if you keep feeding them, and give them plenty of room to grow and lots of aeration. IP: Logged |
