For as long as I have kept fish, I have had the problem of all my fish growing slowly and never reaching full size, regardless of tanf size.Especially angels and bala sharks.I absolutely do not overcrowd and I feed them all an expensive flake food once a day and a frozen supplement about once a week.Eveybodyt else I know has the opposite problem of their fish getting too large.I am careful about my chemistry and whatnot.this is a problem i have had for years and I would love a definative answer to this one!! When you speak of chemistry just what do you mean. If you mean that you control your water parameters with chemicals that could be your problem. ------------------ IP: Logged |

I suspect our local hard water keeps my fish from growing too big. the ones I have that grow fast are juveniles or fry that are maturing. my dad's fish, he has a water softner, seem to grow like crazy. also, I feed my fish 3x a day and give them frozen several times a week. IP: Logged |

You are both right, the water in my area is extremelly hard and I have had to control it chemically with a PH lower.Perhaps I will invest in a watersoftener and see what happens! IP: Logged |
