I posted a message last night asking for help to save my betta and try to figure out what was wrong with him. I bought some melafix, followed the instructions, and hoped he would be okay. Five hours later he is laying on the bottom on his side and breathing very heavily. His spots look worse than before and his fins still appear to be falling off. He is in a tank with nothing but a medium level of water and it actually looks like he has his insides sticking out on one side...is this possible??? I hate to watch him suffer, but I don't want him to die. Does anyone think he will make it?? IP: Logged |

If he is not dead already he certainly will at this point you can euthanize him humanely in some plain club soda..I have killed a hundred bettas in my time but now mine atr living 5yrs and over. All I do is I put my fish into some water from one of my other freshwater tank, they hate new, sparkling water! If you cannot get th at then make sure nnd dechlorinate ans then age your water for a couple of days.aaaalways save most of your old water when cleaning your bowl so as not to shock him.It seems to me that once a Betta starts coming down with the condition yoe described they are doomed...
