I need more information, what size tank is it? Are there any other fish in the tank? I don;t think it has anything to do with your water, of course piranhas are agressive, could be because your tank is too small?

I've never kept piranhas personally, but I know they're schooling fish and have read a few posts that they do best either alone or in groups of 5 or more. One person insists the groups be even, another odd - although I don't see a reason for either situation. If there's only 2, one will be dominant and the harass the other. An addition will provide distraction and balance the playing field a little. Good luck!

i ahve 3 pirahnas, n they are fine 2-gether. i need 2 kno what kind of pirahnas u ahve, b/c i used 2 have a gold pirahna, n he always chased n nipped at my reb-belly's fins for food, so i got rid of him. also, sumtimes fish can be like that. i had one that was always chasing and messing with my 2 pirahnas, and one day they got sick of it so they kiled him. i have added a new pirahna sinced that accoured (about 1 year ago) n now those 3 are in-seperatable. whenever i add feeders in the tank they even have undisputed hunting zones. (1 gets the left half, another gets the middle half, and the other one gets the right half)
