Hi! I received my plants, snails and clams today. They all looked so healthy and good, I just couldn't quarantine them like I did the others. Well since I put my fish back in his aquarium with the new additions, he seems to be more active than ever before. Could it be this is what makes him more happy/comftrable? I have to go buy the gravel vacuum this weekend to make sure his tank is rid of any debris. But is it just me or have others experienced this? When I put my goldfish in something small, he starts banging himself, or acts like he's about to die, or swims so crazily it worries me. Once he's in his aquarium, it's like nothing ever happened. Why does he do this? Thanks in advance. IP: Logged |

Of course he is more happy/comfortable. He is a living organism. People don't think much about plants having feelings, but extensive tests have basically proven that even plants have stimuli. One test in particular: Two identical plants were placed in a controlled environment, measured amounts of light, water, fertilizer, humidity, etc. The only difference in the environments was the type of music that was played for eight hours a day. The one that was played mellow, elevator type music grew rapidly. The one that was played loud, blarring music had stunted growth. As a side note, I've known a lot of avid gardeners, but the two that I have known that had the most beautiful plants, actually talked to their plants daily. Do fish have emotions? Absolutly, no question about it. IP: Logged |
