my south american red tail catfish past away last night along with his good buddy tony the tiger. our ferret trouble knocked over the air tank. needless to say our babies didnt survive. felix was 14 inches long he had an awesome personality. tony was 10 inches long.he tried to mimic everything felix did he was a bottom feeder fish.(not sure what type). we will miss them dearly. Sorry to hear that. I don't think that alot of people that don't keep fish understand that these are just like any other pet along with personality and the whole nine yards. I know if I loose a fish it bums me out. Not to mention all the hard work that we put into these pets. I can't tell you how many times I've heard people say "it's just a fish" and I'm like no it's a pet. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Sorry to hear about Tony and Felix. On a lighter note, I can tell you appropriately named your ferret. IP: Logged |

I know what you mean...I've had large tropicals before(they got so large I had to return them to the pet store because they outgrew a 60 gallon tank) and have recently taken to betas. Recently my red one named Zydeco died and I cried like a baby. People really do think you're silly for mourning the loss of a fish be it a goldfish or yellow tang...but they don't understand that regardless of the level of maintenance a fish requires you really do spend time with your fish...they do recognize you after awhile and come right up to the side of the tank when they see you(I even talk to mine). I'm really sorry to hear about your loss...but I think your ferret has lived up to the ferrets' reputation of being mischeif makers...since you give him/her the run of the house I take it he/she's actually well behaved and sweet in general, I hope you didn't get too angry at him/her. Lots of luck and don't let this little incident spoil you on fish or ferrets. IP: Logged |

I'm sorry...I didn't mean to say little incident the way it came out...I guess I was just trying to make you feel better by saying it could have been worse...I really do need to learn to phrase these things better. IP: Logged |
