Hello there,

I am a beginner, and I have a lionhead goldfish, actualy I had 2 but one of them died a long time ago. The fish is in a not very big aquarium, i know, 5 gal, with good filtration.A week ago everything was fine, but its been 6 days now. The fish is always hiding, its not eating because when I put the flakes in,it doesn't move, and so doesn't c them. And I notice that it doesn't move from the bottom. As far as I know it didn't move for the past 3 days. What am i to do pls???

You should be changing 20% of the water once a week. For a 5 gal. that would be 1 gal/wk. When you change the water siphon it from the bottom of the tank to remove debris from the gravel. If he's not eating be sure to remove the uneaten food from the tank. Be sure to use a chlorine/chloramine remover such as Amquel (1/2 oz for 5 gal.). It would also be helpful to add a PH buffer like Novaqua (1/2 oz for 5 gal.). Hope this helps.
