Hell everybody I have an important question that I need advice on right now I have a 66 gallon aquarium with 4 black convicts 4 rainbow sharks,2 kribensis, 2 figure 8 puffers,4 silver dollars, 2 clownloaches, 2 kenyi african ciclids,4 irridescent sharks, 1 parrot fish, and 1 yellow lab I plan on upgrading to a 130 gallon aquarium in november do you think that 3 monos would be good fish to add to this aquarium?

your tank is horribly overstocked, even with your 130 gallon upgrade. your irridescent sharks by themselves will more than fill a 130 gallon tank long before they are even full grown (4 FEET long), so i def wouldnt recommend adding any more fish.

monos will require brackish/saltwater as they mature so i wouldnt recommend them anyways.

Hello blueice99. Right now you have fish in one tank that should really be in three different tanks. Most of the fish you list prefer slightly acid water except the puffers and african cichlids. The african cichlids prefer highly alkaline water with PH of about 8.0. The puffers like the mono's you mentioned are brackish water fish. Brackish water is higher salt content than fresh water. To give you an idea about brackish water: Brackish water is generally found where freshwater streams and rivers meet the ocean. That's why they are freshwater but have a slightly higher salt content that drifts in from the ocean. Hope this helps you understand brackish water. So, your three tank setups would be: 1) brackish water for the monos and puffers, 2) an alkaline tank for the african cichlids, and 3)a neutral to slightly acid PH tank for the remainder of your fish. Hope this helps.

you have too many fish in that tank. you need to get about 4 130 gal tanks to house them. they will probably die if you dont. you need to research your fish before putting them in your tank. you probably wasted your time and money at the way your going.

Everyone always hollers, "too many fish" without any knowledge of how big the fish are. There are several people like myself that get baby fish, raise them to a respectable size, and then trade them for more small fish or store credit.
