I tried putting my female and male together, but the female was biting the male, and tearing his fins. When she bit, she would latch on. When he would get her to let go, he would go regroup under his bubble nest, then she would be at him again a few seconds later. I seperate them, becuase I noticed soem blood. Is that normal behaviour? I am a first time breeder!

Yah, the males do that, but Females can be kept together (unless they are agressive, that female is now kept in a tank seperate from teh others).
