You are talking about angel fish. My husbands friend used to breed them. He had many. We used to have a large tank with a few different types of fish in it but the angel fish used to attack the others so we had to take the angels back to the shop. Hubys friends shop. Very feisty fish.

We had a tank with an angel that grew quite large (30 gal Hex) with cories, pleco, and several dwarf gouramis. They all got along fine, though the angel did chase around the gouramis some, but they didn't seem to mind. I've heard angels prefer soft, acid water, but ours did fine in our hard, alkaline water. I've also heard that you should have one angel or 3, but Not 2 as the stronger will bully the weaker to death. an exception being male/female I'm sure ; )
Don't get any really small fish like neons or the angel will eat them. And no fin nippers or they will pick on the angel badly.
We fed flakes, ciclid floating pellets, and frozen blood worms.
good luck!
