One of my oscars has an eye that is 3 times its normal size. It looks like there is a film around the sides of the protruding eye but not on top. I do not see a cut that might have caused the swelling. How do I treat it? IP: Logged |

This one is kind of a stumper. It sounds like a disease normally seen in a Marine aquarium called pop-eye disease which is generally considered to be caused by an overly oxygenated tank. The only treatment is cutting back the tanks airflow. Since I haven't run a Marine tank or had any experience with pop-eye in twenty years you may be able to find more current information on this disease on the web which may indicate a different cause and cure. This at least may give you a start. IP: Logged |
