i have been collecting fish since i was 4. the ones that were eating other fish always intrigued me but never could get piranhas cause well just think about a 4 year old feeding a full grown black or golden piranha. thats disaster. so anyways i have 4 healthy reds in a 60 g with 3 electric yellow cichlids. the biggest piranha is almost 2 inch then 1 and 2 1/2 inchers. we can tell who is the dominant considering they were really close to the same size when i got them. i have been feeding them a regular diet of beefheart twice a day. i then switched to guppies in there which 3 to 4 dozen last 3 days if i am lucky first couple dozen gone in first couple of mins. the yellow are doing fine they conicide very nicely usually even the smallest still pushing the piranha around which is about 3 times the size.
my goldens are in a 50 and they are not fun they mainly do things when the lights are off but they too eat the same.
i am eagerly awaiting the arrival of the black at my pet store. we have been trying to get it one for about 1 month now but the distributer they go thru can't get them either.
any comments are welcome and any advice i can give i will be more than eager to do as well.

hey aaron how many tanks do you have cause if you only have one to use than reds are the only thing you should get. yellows and blacks are very territorial and don't like another one

i only have one tank so i guess i would just like to find out where i could pick up some red belly piranhas, i live in texas so there are none at pet stores, i was just wondering if i could buy some from ne one on line
