In a 120 gallon tank, you would probably have enough room for two oscars. 2 oscars in a 55 gallon is really pushing your luck, but I've seen it done before. At full size in a 55, the fish can hardly turn around. Don't buy any more for your 55. Oscars can grow to be 13 inches long! IP: Logged |

I started out with a 55 gal tank and 2 Oscars and 1 Jack Dempsey. Because they looked so small in the big tank, I added another Oscar. They are getting along fine with each other right now at 3", 2.5", and 2.5"; but I can tell that there are territory issues between the two that I think are males. I know that before too long I will have to move the smaller 'male' (and the Jack)into a different tank. So don't have any more than two Oscars in a 55 gal. They will grow! IP: Logged |
