Oscars and cichlids will sometimes vibrate their tails and bodies very rapidly as an attempt to achieve dominance in the tank. This move is also sometimes seen when a fish is ready or looking for a mate. Think of it as the "look at me, I'm the boss" dance. My malawi cichlids shake so much, they look like they are having siezures!
