Could a single Pacu be kept in a 55 gal tank or would it get to large to turn? I believe the tank is 12" deep, 36" long, and 24" tall. Close to those measurements at least. IP: Logged |

You're probably going to need a 700 gallon tank when all is said and done. IP: Logged |

55 gallons is perfect for an adult pacu. don't listen to that non sense. As long as do constant water changes and maintain biological filtration you'll be a ok. I have a full grown red pacu in my 55 and he is very happy and he's been in there for 7 years! IP: Logged |

Finally!!! someone who share my opinions on tank sizes! i agree that a 700 gallon aquarium for a Pacu is Insane, but at the same time, a 55 might be a little small. (a normal 4-person hot-tub is around 400 gallons) i wouldnt keep a black pacu in less than a 75-90 gallon just for the extra width over a 55. But a red-bellied Pacu might last a while in a 55 . . . or atleast untill it reaches 11-12 inches, which should buy you some time to get a bigger tank down the road. IP: Logged |
