I just setup a 50 gallon tank with 4 Red Belly Piranhas. They have been stressed ever since I put them into the tank. They take 3-4 days to finish off 6 feeder goldfish. than they hide in the plants the rest of the time. I did feed them raw beef and they attacked it right away. Are they just becoming spoiled? I wouldn't worry, especially if you just got the pirahnas. I've had a red belly for about 3 months, and he acts basically the same way (except he eats a lot more, haha). Pirahnas are pretty shy fish from what i hear, and they will eventually get comfotable, mine did. Although, i only have one, and you have four... Good luck IP: Logged |

They are a timid fish. No, they are not spoiled. They are spoiled when all they will eat are feeders. Give them lean beef heart it will cost you less than feeders. Just make sure you don't give them any more beef heart than they will eat right away. If beef heart sits in the water too long it will foul the water. I lost 6 by putting too much in on my way out the door going to work. IP: Logged |

hey I have had Red Bellies for almost 7 years they are the good tempered fish. I wouldn't worry they will come around they need time to adjust. One of mine is so relaxed that he will sit in one spot and watch TV or even follow me when I walk around. Soon u can feed them out of your hand. Good Luck IP: Logged |
