OK,you guys, I got a question...Will an old sea shell, be OK to put in a 25 gallon freshwater fish aquarium? Will it hurt the fish? I have two algae eaters, one upside down cat fish, two guppies, two mollies. I have a big sea shell, that would look good in there, but I am not sure about it. I would appreciate any help. Thanks, Gabbygail.

Seashells "harden" the water and you want to make sure they are natural and not coated with lacquer or other material. As for safe, depends on the fish species and what its tolerances are. I would not use seashell except for a saltwater setup. That's my personal preferences.
