Hello all!! I have 3 tanks, lots of fish. The one I'm worried about is a 45 long. It has 2 oscars about 8" & 2 piranah about 5". Quite a combo, huh? The piranah are there temporarily till I get another 45 set up. I just don't have the room right now! Anyway, the tank is infested w/tiny black dots. I put some under a microscope & they're brown, oval, have cilia around the edges. Whiskers?/fins?? stick out of one end. Can someone tell me what these are & how to eradicate them? The fish seem to be healthy & I want them to stay that way!! Thanks!!

If they are snails, a loach will eat them in no time. I don't know anything about your fish other than they are aggressive. not sure if they would eat a loach.. skunk botia are more aggressive of the loaches and they are fast. Maybe give them a little cave to hide in from the big fish if you go this way? maybe look them up online and see what you think... good luck

sounds like snails but the loaches will not work because of the piranhas. they do make drops that will kill them.if you have live plants in your tank that is most likely where they came from.
