My girlie gupie just had 4 babies this morning. I removed her from the tank and haver her in a separate tank away from the other fish and her babies.. think she's still pregnant. How do we keep the babies alive? What do I feed them?
Anybody? Can anyone help?

Hey new babies, awesome. One thing about guppies is that they reproduce like bunnies. For feeding the new arrivals just go to your local pet store and ask for "small fry" fish food. It usually comes in a tube much like tooth paste. Make sure that there isn't a chance for your little ones to get caught up in the filter-major killer. Good luck!

We bought a square shaped net to keep the babies in, so they wont get eaten by the others. I don't remember what its called, but it's used to isolate fish and still keep them in the same tank. This also keeps them away from the filters and other dangers. We have had luck just crushing flake food real small. Every week or so we check the plants real carefully and find two or three little ones hiding.
Hope that helped!

I don't know, but I have a 30-gal aquarium with 50 or so common (feeder) guppies, and I've been able to raise about 30 fry over the last month without even removing them. Just give them some plants to hide in (Elodea works best, but "artificial" elodea is also fine. These plants have thin, needle-like leaves that give hiding places where bigger fish couldn't get to.)
