Hey sasha, I assume when you say red cap gold fish you mean an Oranda. Anyway, doesn't matter. There are multiple reasons why fish of any kind lose their pigmentation. Less stress, high nutrient food and good water quality are vital for maintaining your fish's health. Unlike tropical fresh water fish, Goldfish need two gallons of water for every inch of body length it has. Habitat filtration is a plus. Also make sure you are feeding it Goldfish food and not Tropical Flakes. Their formulated differently. Hope this helps a bit IP: Logged |

Well sasha, it's beyond me. In the store I work at we actually feed the gold fish slices of zucchini, so I guess broc. would be ok. There are fish foods on the market that enhance color. You might also look into color enhancing lights. IP: Logged |
