Hi guys, I recently bought 4 yellow (gold) puffer. They prefer a sligtlhy acidic pH about, 6.5 to 7; right now my pH is 7.5. Is there any simple way to make my pH go down without having to buy some chemical. Every solutions are welcome. Thanks IP: Logged |

If you're looking for a natural way to lower pH, just add some driftwood. You should be able to purchase it at your local pet shop but if you should happen to get some elsewhere I'd suggest that you soak at in boiling water till the water cools, rinse them soak overnight in tap water so as to not introduce parasites or chemicals into your tank. A teaspoon of baking soda per 10gal helps to to lower PH just dilute with water before adding to your tank. I've done this for years and have never had a problem IP: Logged |
